Unusual hazards, including explosive gases, toxic gases, and infectious, disease-producing micro-organisms may be present. Exposure to raw sewage, blood borne pathogens, potentially hazardous chemicals, street traffic and electrical installations is part of the normal working condition. Live sewer pipelines and structures contain domestic, commercial and industrial waste including medical waste and a variety of industrial solvents. Inspection work requires entry into live sewer pipelines and structures. There will be frequent entry into hazardous confined spaces to perform work that may require the individual to work bent over while walking through small pipelines or other confined spaces. These sites may not be served by public transit. Work is performed mainly in the field at wastewater treatment facilities of various types throughout King County. This position will provide support, guidance, and scheduling for all conveyance inspection programs that provide assistance, information, field assessments, asset condition, and water quality data regarding WTD's conveyance system and used to maintain and maximize the useful service life of WTD's pipeline assets.
